Youth Programs
We are focused on connecting youth with their Métis heritage. We’re building pride in their history and ancestry, teaching traditional skills, connecting youth with resources, and helping to prepare them for fulfilling and productive lives as part of the Métis Nation.
Lesser Slave Lake Métis District employs a full-time Youth Coordinator (RYC) who is available both in the office, and in the community to meet with youth, groups, and provide access to resources. They visit local schools, educate Métis youth about our history, teach about the Métis Sash, and assist our graduating students with the Order of the Sash.
Events for youth include Youth Camps, the Headstrong Summit, Youth & Seniors Gatherings, Provincial Events, workshops for everything from beading to Food Safe, and connecting our youth with Métis Role Models.
